  13. WHAT FOR THIS PROG?:
  14. Last time, I downloaded from ftp.midifarm a lot of french KAR files...but what a surprise!
  15. They ALL crashed Midiplay2.65b !! I could see the prob: foreign Char. was in PC MS-DOS...
  16. WHY? other french KAR files work well!!

  18. WHAT'S THE PROB?:
  19. I found the problem: some KAR are made on WINDOWS and some on MS-DOS
  20. As Windowz use the same ASCII than Amiga,french KAR files run.
  21. As MS-DOS don't,they crash. And..MOST OF KAR MAKER RUN ON MS-DOS!!!

  23. WHAT DOES THE PROG?:
  24. This prog read&check for the 'Words' Track on the KAR file for special foreign language KAR
  25. inside Karaoke file infos and change them to the amiga ascii code
  26.  
  27. WHAT CAN DO THE PROG?:
  28. This prog check for a file or files in a directory, it recognize if it's
  29. a MIDIfile before loading it in his memory and after recognize
  30. if it's a KAR file before checking if there's a problem. It actually always save the file..

  32. SECURITY?:
  33. For security reasons, if all your KAR are in english or played correctly if not,
  34. don't launch this program on them...I FOUND A HUGE BUG 5sec before uploading this version...
  35. It's fixed but who knows...I made this prog in one night...

  37. FUTURE?:
  38. Check for mus/midi/KaraoFIX.lha it fixes a little prob that appears with some ENGLISH kar files
  39. I'm working on several prog,actually:
  40. An TXT editor for the MID&KAR text contents
  41. An MID2KARAOKE !! not like the bad PC one! But put text on a graphic part of the music!!
  42. SO surely after these prog was made, a KARAOKE SUITE collection of prog for KAR on amiga..:)
  43. And...it will be FREE!!!!!!!!!
